• Theory and Practice - The theory which springs out of fundamentals can be materialized with little effort. But that materialization will depend upon the effort, time and opportune moment. When theory precedes practice, however, the theory may or may not be materialized. There are four main factors which are responsible for the failure of any theory.

• Testing His knowledge of languages - Baba's knowledge of languages was by now an open secret. During field walk Baba would very often speak about various languages, taking words from several languages and explaining their origin and derivation. He used to say that Sanskrit was the richest of languages, with a vocabulary of five-hundred thousand words, followed closely by English. Amongst the Indian languages, Bengali has the largest vocabulary with one hundred and twenty-five thousand words.

• He to whom the wind speaks - The tantra sadhana that Baba has given is an incomparable boon for the upliftment of human society, and it would be appropriate to term it as Rajadhiraja (King of Kings) Yoga Sadhana. This sadhana is based on the age-old Ashtanga Yoga, but Baba has transformed and refined its practices, making them more scientific in approach and easily acceptable to the general public.

• Where did life come - In the book "Baba in Fiesch" on page 49 is written: "He mentioned that the Alps were the area where life first came to existence on this planet. These mountains were originally higher than the Himalayas. It was quite hot on the earth in those days and only on the top of the Alps at zero degree centigrade temperature did life begin. This is the necessary temperature for this process to start".

AMURT signed a contract with UNICEF to build 26 temporary primary schools in Yogyakarta following last May's devastating earthquake. AMURT had prepared the design and specifications for for this project which includes 4 other NGO’s who between them are building 100 temporary schools.

Human life is an ideological flow - Animals can move and the mental faculty is also a bit developed. Man also can move and the mental faculty is still more developed. But the difference between man and animal, the fundamental difference between man and animal, is that man (human life is an ideological flow) moves towards spirituality, and for an animal there is no spirituality – only eating, drinking, sleeping and dying. Human life is an ideological flow, and there lies the fundamental difference between man and animal.

Fasting is based on science - Our system of fasting is completely based on science. Baba told very clearly that it is purely related to Body and mind but indirectly helps in spiritual path also. It is based on the position of the Sun and other planet. In general calendar people calculate their date as per mid night to mid night but our system is "AHORATRA" system means morning to next morning.

The human search for real progress - What is progress? `Prakrsta gati ityartha pragati.' Where movement is towards Shubha it is called progress. Where movement is not associated with Shubha it is retardation. For instance, going up the hill or down are both movements, but in different directions.

In a general sense, this acoustic expression of ideas is called language.

Civilisation - What is civilization? The subtle sense of refinement that we come across in the different expressions of life is called civilization. Let me give you an example. Suppose some guests have arrived at our home. We may address them imperatively, "Come" or we may welcome them by saying, "Please come in."
